Overview

No big surprises expected, but for at least half of the walk we will be under the tree canopy, as we pass through Edwards Green farm, Cowheath Wood, Emanuel Pollards, Wormley West End, Beaumont Manor, Derry’s Wood, Wormley Wood and Brickendon Grange.

The walk starts and ends at Brickendon. Free parking is available near the Farmer’s Boy pub (on one side of the village green and in Fanshaws Lane). 

For part of the route a warning is in place about oak processionary moth. The caterpillars and nests, which are made of distinctive white silken webbing, contain hairs that can cause itchy rashes, eye and throat irritation and should not be touched.

Optional food and drink is available, after the walk, at The Farmer’s Boy.
