A varied route of woods, river and fields around Whitley Chapel.
Our route begins north from Whitley Chapel to Mollersteads and across farmland and woods towards Steel. We then follow the route of A Pennine Journey on good tracks alongside Devil's Water, passing the remains of the smelter mill at Dukesfield Arches, and through woods to emerge above Rawgreen. Crosssing the Devil's Water, our return is via Aydon Shields and Quakers' Hole wetlands reserve.
We will return to Whitey Chapel village hall by 12.45pm where tea and cakes will be provided for the Area AGM (please bring your own lunch). All are welcome even if not staying for the Area AGM.
There will be a coffee/water break during the walk.
