Overview

Meet at Twinnies Bridge CP, Footpaths to Quarry Bank, Styal Golf Course and Moody Cow (Nixon's Farm). Bring coffee or support Nixon's. Footpaths to Clay Lane, Stanneylands, Styal GC again and Norcliffe Chapel. Bring packed lunch. Footpaths to Oxbow and Giant's Castle (now closed), Morley Green and back to Wilmslow.

Loos at Quarry Bank and Moody Cow on the way out. Alfresco on the way back although NT card holders could divert to Quarry Bank Gardens on the way to the lunch point.

The paths tend to be wet rather than muddy and we've walked this route in snow in January in the last 2 years which is delightful. Poles recommended. No dogs please (livestock).

There are a few stiles around Styal (no pun intended). The only steep sections are out of the Bollin Valley at Quarry Bank - once on the way out, once on the way back.
