The walk starts with a gentle incline from the edge of Eildon village and heads into the woodland trails of Buccleuch estate.
After ¾ mile we descend towards Eildon Hall loch and then up to Greenwells farm before following a minor road with the Eildons to our right to Whiterigg.
Heading east from Whiterigg with the hills now to our left and before reaching Newton St Boswells we cut left and head back into the woods, crossing a stream by footbridge.
We then proceed north and eventually come to another minor road where we turn right, back towards our starting point.
There are 2 or 3 relatively gentle climbs on the walk and as we're going on some wooded tracks there will be muddy stretches at some points, so boots and poles are advised.
After the walk it's planned to go to Milestone cafe for coffee etc.
Grade: D, leisurely. Boots and poles are advised.
Estimated duration: 1.5 hours
