Transport to Walk Start: 10:02 train from Manchester Piccadilly station (final destination Blackpool North).

Meet Point:  In the lounge above platforms 13 & 14 at Piccadilly Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train or at Adlington Station. 

Suggested Ticket: Off Peak Day Return to Adlington (Lancashire) £7.70. At time of writing, a limited number of advance singles were available for £3.10 each way.

Walk Start: Adlington (Lancashire) Railway Station at 10:40

Waypoints: Leeds/Liverpool Canal, Aberdeen Bridge, Wigan Golf Club, Worthington Lakes, Wrenalls Farm, Hic Bibi Nature Reserve, Coppull Moor Lane, Jolly Tar Lane, Highfield Farm, Moss Ditch.

Return Services: x:39 until 18:39, also x:07 from 17:07 to 23:07 (22:07 terminates at Oxford Road), then last train at 23:52.

Extra: No toilets at walk start or en route, Optional post-walk drinks at a pub in Adlington.

This is a fairly flat walk, with mostly good paths and tracks, although we will pass through a few boggy fields. We will be walking along the Leeds / Liverpool Canal, around Worthington Lakes and passing through Hic Bibi Nature Reserve. Good footwear / walking boots required.
