Overview

Booking is essential as numbers are limited. Please book a place using the email contact form.

We will take the 9.27 from Marylebone arriving at Amersham at 10.02. Use freedom pass, over 60 Oyster card or buy a CDR to Amersham.

Please note that the toilets at Amersham station are closed until the end of November.

This is a Chilterns walk of 8.9 miles which goes out along one side of the Misbourne valley and back along the other. We do go up and down at times but it is undulating rather than hilly. There are no stiles. The walk skirts a busy golf course. There are some hard walking surfaces at intervals throughout the walk. There will be some single file walking for example on a narrow lane used by vehicles. Expect open views and hopefully we will see some remaining autumn colour. There may be mud.

We will have lunch in Chalfont St Giles on the village green. I have booked a table for 6 at the Merlin's Cave pub. If you want a place please let me know using the email contact form. There are hourly buses in either direction in Chalfont St Giles for those who wish to drop out.

In the afternoon we pass through Old Amersham. Depending on daylight we might be able to have tea there before tackling the uphill walk to the station.

For the return journey we have the choice of an hourly train to Marylebone at 8 minutes past the hour, or the Metropolitan Line which runs approximately every 20 mins.
