Enjoy the heart of the Sussex countryside as well as one of the best preserved and spectacular castles (Bodiam) in the UK. Start at Hawkhurst Fish Farm, then: Bodiam - Salehurst - Robertsbridge - Silverhill - Hawkhurst FF.
Waterside Cafe (open from 9.00) and loos available at starting point (Hawkhurst Fish Farm where there is free parking). Coffee break after 3.5 miles at Bodiam Castle where there is a cafe. Packed lunch at half way point, the village of Salehurst, where there is a Free House (The Salehurst Halt) as well as an attractive and imposing church. A few ups and downs, but no crampons needed. Also a bit of minor-road walking. 40 minute car journey (from Sevenoaks) to start of walk. Walk Leader offering (room for three) lift from and back to Sevenoaks.
Large free car park at Hawkhurst Fish Farm, into the entrance of which you turn right off B2244 (Hastings Road), approaching from south. Just by car park is Waterside Cafe, open from 9.00.
