Overview

The walk begins in the pretty village of Brenchley and heads east along the High Weald Landscape Trail. We pass the now tranquil Furnace Pond, which was once at the centre of England’s first Industrial Revolution in the 1600s. We walk via Sprivers and Marle Place country houses before lunching in Matfield. The afternoon explores the landscape to the west of Matfield, before walking along a ridge back into Brenchley, with far reaching views down to the River Medway.
