Overview

A pleasant walk down buttermere before a strenous hike along the south western sky line.

Start from above the village by the road. We walk down the northern side of the lake a long easy paths to Gatesgarth. Go up Warnscale Bottom, crossing to the southern side and then ascend past the bothy. We head west across Hay Stacks and to the col at Scarth Gap. The big three are quickly knocked off before we descend Lingcomb Edge, Blea Crag and pass Scale Force falls. Turning right we head back to buttermere and some fine libations.
