Overview

A walk taken from a recent copy of Mendip Times looking at the former coal mining area around Coleford and Vobster, the lifeblood there for centuries.  The walk also follows parts of the former Dorset & Somerset Canal.  Sue Gearing, the author of this walk, mentioned broken stiles and a blocked footpath in her article, all of which have been reported to the Rights of Way Officer.  I always like to follow paths like these for fear it will be a case of ‘use them or lose them’.  Bring snack.
