Overview

There is a limit of 12 people for this walk and booking is essential.  Please use the email link to book after 19 October. 

E5 Bakehouse is a bakery, cafe and millhouse, located in railway arches underneath the Overground.  

After coffee, at 11.00, we will walk through London Fields and then past stops for the 394 and 236 buses (nearly 1 mile).  After crossing Regent's Canal, we circuit Haggerston Park.  We then pass stops for the 55 and 26 buses (1 3//4 miles).  We continue through parks and open spaces, past numer 8 and 288 bus stops after 2miles and then through Weavers Fields.  We reach Bethnal Green Overground after 2 1/2 miles and Bethnal Green Tube at 3 miles, with more bus stops.  After visiting the park, we head through Meath Gardens, over the canal and through Mile End Park, to the Tube Station and bus stops.

Walking shoes or walking boots are recommended, as it could be muddy in places.  There are toilets in London Fields and Haaggerston Park.

Bring a picnic if you plan to walk beyond Haggerston Park.

E5 Bakehouse, Arch 396 Mentmore Terrace, E8 3PH. It is close to London Fields Overground Station and buses going along Mare Street. After going downstairs from the station platforms, turn left and take the exit signposted for Mare Streeet and Victoria Park. This brings you to Mentmore Terrance, where you turn left and walk along the railway arches to the cafe. From the St Thomas's Square bus stop, turn down London Lane, oppposite the Square, then turn left along the arches on Mentmore Terrace.
