Train based walk

Leader: Annie (meeting at Liverpool Lime Street)

Meet Point: Above platform 13/14 at Manchester Piccadilly in time for the below train. Alternatively meet the walk leader at Liverpool Lime Street station, or at the walk start at Merseyrail Waterloo station. 

Transport to Walk Start: 09:43 from Manchester Piccadilly to Liverpool Lime Street. 

Then gathering at 11.00am at Liverpool Lime Street Station before a short walk to Merseyrail Liverpool Central Station for the 11.17am train to Merseyrail Waterloo Station.

Suggested Ticket:  Off Peak Hightown Return £18.90

Walk Start: Merseyrail Waterloo Station at 11:35am

Return Services:  Merseyrail from Hightown to Liverpool Central running every 15 minutes. Frequent trains running from Liverpool to Manchester.

Waypoints: Marine Lake, Crosby Beach, 100 Another Place Statues, Sefton Coastal Path

Extra: No toilet at walk start. Optional drinks at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs)

This is a linear casual coastal walk from Merseyrail Wwaterloo to Hightown. 

Another Place is a piece of modern sculpture by British artist Antony Gormley located at Crosby Beach in Merseyside.  It consists of 100 cast iron figures facing towards the sea. The figures are modelled on the artist's own naked body. The work consists of cast iron figures which face out to sea, spread over a 2-mile (3.2 km) stretch of beach between Waterloo and Blundellsands.

After the walk we may get off the train at Moorfield Station and walk through Mathew Street, where the famous Cavern Club is located. Also you may make your own way to explore Liverpool city centre.
