We will leave Edenbridge along the Roman Road to the old Memorial Hospital and then cut across to Marsh Green before climbing up to Dry Hill Fort via Greybury Farm. We will circumnavigate the Fort and see the clear remains of the three-walled bronze age structure. Throughout the climb we will be looking back across to the Greensand Ridge and North Downs beyond. We look towards the High Weald as we drop down from the Fort to the South and then West to Dormansland via Upper Stonehurst and Old Lodge farms. We will lunch at Dormansland before returning to Edenbridge via Starborough Farm and Haxted.
The route makes full use of lanes and all weather tracks where possible but there will be some muddy sections and sodden areas. Unfortunately the snow in the pictures cannot be guaranteed!
Picnic lunch at the Plough at Dormansland, where refreshments can also be taken.
Please no dogs.
Please check the website, or call the leader, for changes, before coming on the walk.
