Overview

An exciting winter high level walk along the top of the Fell above Carperby. From Barrowfield Nature Reserve we climb Beldhaw Hill and then on open access land walk east along the ridge to descend down the southern slope of Great Wegber. Returning to Barrowfield on low level paths.

Whilst I would hesitate to describe it a strenuous walk, but with a total ascent of 1300ft and much of the ridge being off path, including the descent from Great Wegber, I would say its certainly upper moderate. There are four stiles on the return leg.
