Enjoy with us the brilliant landscape of the Longshaw Estate and Padley Gorge. Impressive, stunning, varied: all words that could be used to describe it. We start from Grindleford Station with its famous and much-loved café, which opened way back in 1973. We then make our way through Padley Gorge and the Longshaw Estate through Hay Wood down to Grindleford where we walk alongside the Derwent river. We return to the start past Padley Chapel on the site of Padley Hall where in 1588 two Catholic priests were discovered in hiding. Found guilty of treason they were hung, drawn and quartered in Derby.
