A pleasant winter walk starting from the riverside car park opposite the Unicorn in Gunthorpe, which heads west along the north bank of the River Trent toward Burton Joyce and on to Stoke Lock. Our return route is a direct path back to the starting point, following the riverside path.
The car park at Gunthorpe is free, but it can get busy on Sundays.
This is a flat walk with no stiles. The route is on well-maintained paths, some of which are fully paved, though depending on the weather, there may be surface mud in a few places.
We will take a drinks break at Burton Joyce train station, where there is seating, and lunch at Stoke Lock, where there are also places to sit. Please bring a packed lunch
