Overview

This walk has been updated, including train times.

A 13 mile linear walk in the low hills around Romney Marsh, through woods, a nature reserve, along the Royal Military Canal and Saxon Shore Way.

Is this walk for you?

  1. Some of the paths are badly overgrown with nettles, grasses and occasionally brambles;
  2. There is some road walking, mainly on quiet roads but a couple are fast and busy;
  3. Access to one of the paths meant climbing over a field gate;
  4. There are only a few stiles but a couple of them are in poor condition and one has a high step;
  5. There is a pub and a tea room in Appledore.  The village is 1.4 miles from Appledore station;
  6. Return trains from Appledore to Ashford International are at 57minutes past the hour.
