Overview

Setting off from outside Hartham Leisure Centre, Hertford we will walk up past St Leonard's Church, which dates from about 1120 and is the oldest building in Hertford. We make our way to Chapmore End, via One Tree Field.  Passing the duck pond in Chapmore End we will head to Hanbury Manor.

We then head past the Carmelite Monastery in Ware onto Hartham Common and back to the start along the River Lea.

Parking at Hartham Common is payable, £4.80 for 4 hours.  Please note the leisure centre car park cannot be used. It is reserved for those using the centre.

The start is close to Hertford East train station and Hertford bus station.

There are numerous pubs and cafes in Hertford for pre or post walk refreshments.
