A variation of a popular East Yorkshire walk offering great views and easy walking.(9.5 miles and 900 ft of ascent)
This walk uses sections of the popular Wolds Way, the Beverley 20 and Parish trails. Overall the walk is mostly flat and well marked paths cutting through some beautiful countryside including wooded areas. Starting from the village of Welton w will meet at the village duck pond before heading up Chapel Hill. After the first mile we will glimpse of East Yorkshire’s grand canyon! Following the Wolds Way we weave our way to the edge of Nut Woods where we have a short tea or coffee break. Refreshed we press on westwards to pick up the bridal way exiting on Wauldby Road heading towards Eloughton Dale. At about 6 miles we stop for lunch with super views over the river Humber and surrounds. We make our way through old woods with deciduous trees to return to Welton. There will be an opportunity for after walk refreshments at the Green Dragon that claims in the 17th to be a favourite haunt of Dick Turpin.
