Overview

The walk passes in front of Lowther Castle and descends to cross Askham Bridge, it continues south along the Lowther Valley to Helton then rises onto Askham Fell, crossing Moor Divock and Heughscar Hill before descending to Askham. It continues through the village then takes a northerly course through Lowther Park before returning to Lowther Castle car park. The walk is mostly on good paths with some stretches on minor roads.
