We are the Tavistock Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From Meldon Quarry car park we will walk to Okehampton along the West Okement river and through the golf course, stopping at the station for refreshments with homemade Christmas cake and mince pies. Bring a flask of coffee or buy some at the cafe. We then walk uphill to the army camp, over Black Down down to Meldon, and along the Red a Ven brook. The views are amazing!
One muddy field, some road walking, tracks and paths, steady climb from Okehampton to Black Down, no stiles.
