Overview

We will walk from Yelverton car park next to the playground along the West Devon way to Tavistock. Doublewaters makes an ideal pause for coffee and biscuits (please bring your own) before the tough stretch up West Down.  We cross the Walkham river at Doublewaters which usually means a little paddling  so walking boots are essentilal. The route into Tavistock from West Down is on a quiet lane where care is required.

Starting from Tavistock, take the no 1 bus to the Grange Road bus stop in Yelverton.  The 09:30 from Tavistock bus station boards at 09:31 to allow for bus pass holders and will arrive at the start in good time.

If arriving by car in Yelverton then return is by the no 1 bus which normally runs every 20 minutes.

I will lead the group to Tavistock Meadows (park) with easy access to the town for a selection of lunch options. If you wish to drop out early (e.g while passing Morrisons) please let the leader know.
