This time it’s north from the Viper, Mill Green, using wooded paths and farm tracks via Writtle Park and Loves Green to The Bakehouse on the A414, for coffee. We return via Fithlers Hall and Pool Lane through more woods to the pub. Some mud is promised. Sighting of various wildlife is likely, much of the route being very remote. There are a few stiles but no significant inclines.
Note the concessionary start time of 10.30 a.m., but would those lunching please arrive in good time to preorder from Jo who will be there from 09.45 a.m. The changing menu is inside on a chalk board; see link to example menu below. Their log fires should be on and they typically offer four ales on draught. Also proper coffee.
