This is a 10 mile walk starting from the Meon Hall in Pound Lane Meonstoke. SO32 3NP SU617201. Lunch will be at the Bucks Head which is less than 10 minutes walk from the car park, so the walk can be done as a figure of eight.
The morning walk is just over 6 miles and the afternoon walk is 3.5 miles. The morning walk goes through lanes and fields and a steepish climb through the flower filled nature reserve to the top of Old Winchester Hill. There are lovely views over the Meon Valley all day.
The afternoon walk goes through Exton up towards Corhampton, along the ridge and back down through the fields.
There are no stiles but two low barriers to step over and one or two uneven paths. We will stop for coffee in the morning at a good viewpoint before climbing through the nature reserve.
The car park can be reached from the A32 towards Droxford and Fareham, just after the junction with the A3035 to Bishops Waltham. Turn left almost immediately and pass the Bucks Head on your left. At the top of the road turn left, then right into Pound Lane. The hall is on the right at the junction with Fry's Lane. The hall committee would like a small optional donation from each car. We can sort that out on the day.
Please let me know if you intend to eat at the pub. There are plenty of seats for picnickers near the church behind the pub.
The pub specialises in pizzas, but does starters,/light dishes and main coursees such as fish and chips. They might need a pre order the day before, depending on numbers. If needed I'll email the menu to everyone who is coming.
