A gorgeous journey with spectacular views along Hadrian's Wall from Brocolitia to the Sill.
This walk begins with a ride on the AD122 bus to the temple of Mithras at Brocolitia Roman fort. After visiting the temple, we follow the Hadrian's Wall path west. We pass Sewing Shields and Housesteads, as well as Sycamore Gap, on our way to Steel Rigg, where we turn off the path to The Sill.
You will have views across Grindon, Broomlea and Crag Loughs and marvel at Sewingshields, Housesteads, Hotbank, Highshield and Peel crags, all of which mark the line of the Great Whin Sill.
Refreshments afterwards at The Sill. You may also wish to take time to visit the art installation of largest part of the Sycamore Gap tree, on permanent display at The Sill.
