RERUN DUE TO TRAIN CANCELLATIONS ON THE ORIGINAL DATE:
Meeting outside Marks and Spencer, Queen Street Station, Glasgow at 9:30am for the 9:43am train stopping at Dumbarton Central. Walkers should buy a return ticket to Balloch.
From Dumbarton Central we will walk alongside the River Leven to Balloch. This section is 5 miles long and mostly flat. There are picnic areas for coffee. On arrival at Balloch we will walk through Balloch Country Park which has some steep climbs. If walkers wish to do so we may then make a short detour to Loch Lomond Shores for toilets and lunch. We will then return to Balloch for the train back to Glasgow.
We should arrive in Balloch around 12:30pm and be ready to return on 13:38 to Glasgow Central. Trains to Glasgow are at 11 minutes and 38 minutes past the hour.
ANYONE WISHING TO JOIN THE WALK AFTER THE MEET POINT AT GLASGOW QUEEN STREET STATION PLEASE LET THE WALK LEADER KNOW IN ADVANCE WHERE THEY WISH TO MEET THE GROUP
Walk is mostly on flat tarmac paths with some steep inclines within Balloch Country Park.
