A walk of historical interest, urban wild life and and scenic views, taking in the River Crane, the Thames and the Duke of Northumberland River, which is actually a canal and commonly referred to as the 'Duke's River'. Starting at Whitton station, with a short walk to Kneller Gardens where there are toilets and a cafe. Walking east, joining the Thames at Mill Platt overlooking Isleworth Ait. Lunch in Richmond (pub/picnic/cafe), then passing Marble Hill Park and leaving the Thames at Twickenham, proceeding through the Mereway Nature Park and rejoining Kneller Park.
Flat terrain, but moderate pace. Most of the walk is in the morning, there will be a short coffee stop. Lots to see, but please take care - busy roads and deep water nearby. Some paths may be slippery. In crowded locations please try to stay together.
