Leader: Mark F (meeting at walk start)

Meet Point: Near the ticket barriers, or on the platform at Piccadilly Station. Alternatively, meet the group on the train, or at the Walk Start at Woodley Station. 

Transport to Walk Start: 10:51 train from Manchester Piccadilly to Woodley

Suggested Ticket:  Off Peak Woodley Return £7.40

Walk Start: Woodley Station at 11:20am

Return Services:  2 trains an hour to Manchester

Waypoints: Trans Pennine Trail, Back o’th Hill, Hare and Hounds, Werneth Low Country Park, War Memorial, Gower Hey Wood, Disused Railway Track, Peak Forest Canal

Extra: No toilet at walk start. Optional drinks at the end of the walk. Please do not bring your dog (apart from assistance dogs)

A shortish walk with one longish ascent up to Werneth Low, where fantastic views are to be had. This walk follows bridleways, field paths, a woodland area and a canal towpath.

Good footwear is advised. Trainers are OK, but no sandals etc. please.

A moderate level of fitness is required due to the ascent.
