We are the East Hertfordshire Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Everyone is welcome to our pre AGM walk.
We will walk past Tonwell Water Tower which is being converted into a Airbnb property. As we pass Temple Farm we will keep our eyes peeled for the buried treasure supposedly left behind by The Knights Templar. Joining The Hertfordshire Way we will walk through Sacombe Park to reach St Catherine’s Church. A church has been on this site for over a 1000 years.
We will then walk through Home, Low and Furzeground Woods and past an impressive walled garden. We will rejoin The Hertfordshire Way just before Wadesmill to walk past Chelsing Farm hopefully seeing the Guinea Fowl. We will return to Temple Farm passing an impressive barn and then a short walk back to Tonwell.
Weather permitting this walk will have good views.
We will meet outside Tonwell Village Hall. There is on street parking in the village. The 384 Hertford to Stevenage bus runs through Tonwell, https://www.traveline.info/
