We start from the pub, by going over a bridge, then going east following the Grantham Canal passing under four bridges before we reach Harlaxton Wharf. The wharf has information boards which give background about its usage. We now reverse our course to follow the canal west for a short way before we branch off towards Denton Reservoir. The reservoir was designed to keep the canal water at a suitable level.
We have our coffee break at the point we leave the reservoir and follow old railway tracks until we come to Longmoor Bridge where we cross the canal and retrace our steps to the starting point.
The terrain is largely flat with a few stiles and a gate to climb over. There can be muddy patches if it has recently rained. There is an optional pub lunch after the walk.
If you would like to join this walk, please contact the leader using the email link above.
Please be at the Dirty Duck by 9.45am to order your food and use toilets.
