Overview

On this walk you will enjoy, weather permitting, panoramic views of the entire northern edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park from Hay Bluff to the Black Mountain, the Begwyns and the Epynt.  We cross three commons  and visit the trig point on Mynydd Fforest.  This is a very remote area and other walkers are a rarity. There is a tricky descent near the start of the walk but otherwise the walking is fairly easy in open country utilising quiet lanes and grassy moorland paths.  There are no stiles and any climbs are gradual.  The fforest in the title is used in the medieval sense and there are very few trees.
