Overview

Start adjacent to the Lost Sheep Statue next to the bus station in Canterbury.

Walk is from Canterbury to Whitstable along the Crab and Winkle Way (which takes its name from the pioneering railway from the early 19th Century, one of the first to be built in Great Britain).

Walk goes via Canterbury City, up past the University, through Clowes Wood and onto Whitstable. We will stop for a break at roughly halfway adjacent to the old winding ponds. (Please bring your own refreshments).

There are toilets available in Canterbury near the start point. This is a one way walk with the option of catching a bus (number 400 or 401) either before the start or after the finish. Option to have refreshments and/or a meal in the Peter Cushing Wetherspoons pub in Whitstable at the end.
