Overview

This 15-mile circular walk through the Chilterns that starts and ends at Tring Railway Station. Rolling hills with constant undulation.

A brisk walk with an ave speed of 3 mph.

We begin with a gentle walk along the Grand Union Canal, then up through Pitstone Hill & Steps Hill, where we meet the Ridgeway, and then onto Ivinghoe Beacon, offering panoramic views.

We’ll then take the Icknield Way Trail through Coomb Wood.

We then have a climb of 87 steps (a steep ascent), which is followed by a further steep ascent to Ringshall Coppice.

We’ll have a late lunch in Little Gaddesden, so please bring a packed lunch.  There is a pub for drinks only.

A sharp descent after lunch, then through a golf course, via woodlands, Albury Common and back to Tring Station.
