Overview

This beautiful expanse of low limestone is steeped in history: from ancient pre-Roman settlements to Charles 1's journey south to his final, unsuccessful battle of Civil War.  The walk is on farm paths and grassy tracks on open heather moorland.  There are a number of stiles and a short wet area.
