This is one of the great walks in the British Isles. We walk to Tintern high above the Wye Valley on the Offa's Dyke path, with fabulous views, then after a longish lunch at Tintern, where cafes and shops are a possibility, we walk back along the Wye Valley walk, with even more spectacular views. After the Eagles Crag, we drop back down to Chepstow past the ancient Chepstow Castle.
With nearly 900m of climb, you need a reasonable level of fitness for this walk, but in general the climbs are not too steep, just prolonged.
Apart from the views, there is a great deal of historical interest all the way along , from Wintour's Leap and the Devil's Pulpit, to the Cistercian Abbey at Tintern, Lover's Leap and Giant's Cave.
