Update on 23rd January after recces. Due to poor ground conditions, the walk will now finish at lunch reducing the walk to 3.3 miles. From the start walk 0.8 miles to The Wattenden Arms for coffee. After coffee walk around Kenley Airfield and then onto the Fox for pub lunch or picnic where the walk will finish.
Return by 466 bus to Purley then 127 bus as per outwood journey.
There are a number of ups and downs on the walk. After recent heavy rain, there is a fair amount of mud. Sticks/poles are recommended.

I will be catching the 127 bus from Carshalton Station. A connecting train leaves Sutton at 10.12. At Carshalton Station, turn left from the station to North Street and cross the road to the bus stop. The 127 bus runs every ten minutes. If you are on a different bus from me, leave the bus at the Purley Station/Purley High Street stop which is the stop after Purley Cross.
From the bus stop walk back along the road for a short distance and use the underpass to Tesco (you can't miss it) and the 466 bus stop. On the day if you are running late and worried about making the 466 bus send me a text or call. There are toilets in Tesco at Purley where we will be catching the 466 bus no earlier than 11.05.
