From the impressive Llanthony Priory, we have a short ascent south west to join a forest track and contour round the mountainside on generally good paths. There is some mud! We descend on smaller paths which give an even better view of the valley and mountains to the east. There is a half a mile stretch on the generally quiet valley road, cross the river Honddu on a foot bridge and walk through fields on footpaths back to Llanthony. There are a number of shallow rivers that need to be crossed but generally lovely walking with, hopefully views.
