Please note: I seem to have mentioned 2 start times for this walk. So we will depart Tottenham Hale at 9:30am.
A walk from Tottenham Hale via Walthamstow Wetlands, Hackney Marsh, Olympic Park, Hackney Wick, Victoria Park, Mile End Park, Limehouse Basin to Canary Wharf. At Canary Wharf we will take the Uber ferry to Greenwich and finish the walk at Royal Observatory, Greenwich Park.
Meet at the main entrance to Tottenham Hale station at 9:20 am, we will depart at 9:30 am. We will take our morning break at the Olympic Park Velodrome cafe where you can buy coffee/tea. Lunch will be near Limehouse Basin at Ropemakers Field, Narrow St, close to The Grapes pub. Picnics can be eaten nearby. The Grapes is a small pub and may be busy Saturday lunchtimes and there are no table bookings. If you would like a pub lunch, it depends on how busy things are.
After lunch there is a short walk to Canary Wharf Pier. From here we will take an Uber Boat to Greenwich (3 stops, about 10 minutes). Tickets prices are about £6-7.00 for a single, concessions with Freedom Pass, use of Oyster card or the Uber App.
On arriving at Greenwich we will walk past the Cutty Sark, past the old Royal Naval College, National Maritime Museum and the Queens House, ascend Greenwich Park to the Royal Observatory with fine views across the Thames, Canary Wharf and north east London.
Afterwards there are plenty of pubs for a drink before returning home.
Return to London from Greenwich mainline station.
