Linear walk from Merrivale to Tavistock using moorland tracks and the Dartmoor Way.
This is a linear walk with the option to park in Tavistock (by the golf club) with car sharing to Pork Hill, or to park at Pork Hill. At the end of the walk drivers can return to Pork Hill with a fellow rambler, by 98 bus from the golf club to Merrivale or taxi from Tavistock.
The walk is mostly downhill with great views most of the way.

The revised meeting and parking is near the Tavistock Golf Club. This is free and is also on the number 98 bus route. If walkers require there is simple route to continue to Tavistock town centre and there a few later buses back to Merrivale from Tavistock.
The revised starting point at Pork Hill car park is because the paths are not suitable due to recent heavy rains.
I recced the walk Monday 15th and it was a beautiful day. The weather forecast for Wednesday remains uncertain and if it looks like rain or snow then it may be cancelled at the last minute. Please register so I can let you know if it is cancelled at the last minute.
