Join the celebrations with this shorter linear walk on the Pennine Way.
Our route takes us out of Wark by the church and up a footpath through fields via Warksfield Head to join the Pennine Way. We follow the Pennine Way north through Shitlington to Bellingham with wonderful views across the valley.
We will meet with the walkers on the longer walk for a Hexham Ramblers tea at the Riverdale Hotel in Bellingham - bookings for the tea need to be made in advance and by Wednesday 9th July.
The return journey is by service bus to either Wark or Hexham (unless you have made alternative car share arrangements).
Advance booking is required for this walk. To reserve your place and to book for the tea, please e-mail the walk leaders, Jill and John, through the contact box above - and remember to include your mobile number in the e-mail.
Booking opens on Monday, 30th June for the walk and close on Wednesday 9th July for tea.
The walk will start on Church Lane in Wark on arrival at 12 noon of the Tynedale Links bus service 680 from Hexham [departing Hexham bus station at 11.30]. If you are travelling by car/car share, please park courteously in the village and arrive at the Church Lane bus stop in time for the walk to start at 12 noon.
The walk will finish in Bellingham. You can return to Wark or Hexham by bus unless you have made alternative car share arrangements. The Tynedale Links bus service 680 leaves Bellingham for Wark and Hexham at 16:40, 18:40 and 19:40 should you wish to explore the town or the First & Last Brewery.
