Circular walk approx 4.5 miles. Assistance dogs only.
We leave Quarry Lane parking area & head up hill following the bridlepath that skirts Errington woods, with views across towards Brotton & Skelton as you reach the top of the path, then continue on passing through the pretty village of Upleatham. After leaving the village we start a slight climb again onto a fieldpath above the village & top of Village woods, skirting the edge of several fields. Hopefully, weather permitting, we have further lovely views across to Skelton and southwest towards Roseberry Topping. We pass the trig point on Beacon Moor and hopefully other views across Marske & Redcar & the coast, before heading down the steps towards Pontac Lane, New Marske. Here we start our walk back to the cars along the lower broad woodland path then back down Quarry lane bank.
Elevation of approx 520ft.
No stiles
No toilet facilities on this route
Some paths may be muddly, depending on recent weather. Paths mainly woodland & fields paths, but tarmac/paved through the village of Upleatham
Advisable to bring a torch, in case the evening draws in quickly, as the only section of the walk with street lights is Upleatham village
