Overview

WALK DESCRIPTION: Street walk up to canal, drop down on to Ray Hall, under the Newton Rd, into Sandwell Valley along the riverbank to Forge Mill Lake, a visit to RSPB can be made then back to Hampstead Road about 5 miles.

JOINING INSTRUCTIONS: Take the No 16 bus (A or C, bus stop MK3, Bull Ring Markets stop on Upper Dean Street) from Birmingham towards Great Barr approx. 10.00 am. Alight at Lingfield Court bus stop (nearest postcode B43 5BE) on the Hampstead Road at approx. 10.30 am. Leader will meet walkers at Lingfield Court. Walk starts at 10.45 am. If driving, park on nearby side roads. Nearest station, Hamstead, with 20 + minute walk to Lingfield Court.
