Overview

SOCKBURN LOOP FROM MIDDLETON ONE ROW

Walking from Middleton One Row, parking on the road opposite The Devonport Hotel in the middle of the village. The walk briefly follows the river Tees before a gentle climb to walk through Dinsdale Golf course. We then proceed through fields to Black Wood and join Sockburn Lane where we pick up the Teesdale Way turning at High Sockburn to cross  the River Tees and on to Girsby, where the path  then proceeds northwood through fields eventually reaching Dinsdale Grange where we cross the river Tees again, following the west bank footpath back to our starting point. The route does not have any significant climbs, and should not be very muddy at present.
