A beautiful walk along the River Eden to Great Ormside. Over fields to Rutter Force and back to Appleby along Hoff Beck. Narrow paths through the woodland along the river followed by a section of road walking. The fields alongside Hoff Beck will probably have dairy cows in, but they were all very well behaved despite our dog. Approximately 15 stiles, but mostly easy and well spaced out. Well worth the journey which is only about an hour and a quarter from Northallerton as the A66 is nice and fast (usually!)
