Overview

We will start from Bedford Bridge and walk through the woods and up to the West Devon way. Then we follow the West Devon way to Double Waters for a coffee break, to return along the Dartmoor Way. After the Gem Bridge we take a steep descent to the river to return to the start.

The path is wet and muddy in places but was passable (not flooded). There are many stony and rooted parts that can be slippery and there is standing water in places so boots absolutely necessary and gaiters advised.

The toughest climb is near the beginning in this undulating walk.  The ferns and some trees have started to change colour so the views will be great especially if the sun shines!

Please let leader know if you plan to join the walk.

As the Goose Fair is on lifts are not possible from Pixon Lane car park. The leader is driving from Tavistock so lifts for up to 3 people only by prior agreement as to pick-up spot with the leader.

The toilet at Bedford Bridge car park was not open 8/10
