After walking north from Two Bridges, we’ll head down towards the Cherrybrook Hotel, then traverse Muddilake between the two B roads to eventually cross the West Dart River and walk some of the High Moor Link of the Dartmoor Way towards Tor Royal. The end of the walk will bring us alongside the West Dart River back around to Two Bridges across fields and via the leat meet. Lots of moorland tracks with extensive views in clear weather.
This is a largely exposed route on open moorland and fields, mostly (but not all) on paths and tracks. Some up and downhill but the inclines are mostly gradual. Mud, wetness underfoot and bogginess in some places. There’s a small jump over Muddilake Brook. Several stiles including ladder stiles.
Walking poles advised as well as waterproofs and warm clothing/layers.
Dogs on leads. Bring warm drink for our coffee stop and packed lunch for later stop.
