A pleasant walk around mixture of track, fields and an old railway line. On leaving the car park there is a walk along the old Railway track until we reach the turnoff to cut through to Stockeld Park. We then walk through Stockeld Park grounds until we reach Spofforth. We walk through Spofforth to reach Crimple Beck which we follow for a while. This will lead us to the fields to Kirk Deighton. We then return to the car park through Kirk Deighton. Mainly good tracks but along the river is a bit overgrown so poles may be helpful and fields/tracks muddy in parts. Some nice views on a clear day.
Depending on time it is envisaged that we will stop at the Castle Inn for half an hour where you can buy a hot/cold drink but please do not eat your own food in the pub. You will have the opportunity to sit somewhere in Spofforth and eat your lunch and return to meet the others outside the Castle Inn.
