We will walk along the river to Howgill. From here, we cimb almost to Simon's Seat, then take the path down the other side into the Valley of Desolation. We'll follow the path through the valley to the Cavenish Pavilion where we will stop for refreshments; after which we'll follow the river/Strid back to Barden Bridge.
The "Free Parking" area is quite small so I would recommend car sharing and getting there as early as you can.
Steep climb from Howgill to Simon's Seat. Despite it's May, it could be wet and muddy in places.
