A triangular walk (circular is ‘so’ 2023) in the Wiltshire Andes. Spectacular views across Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire (and possibly beyond), lovely wooded valleys. Skylarks, hares, pheasants – it’s all here. Somewhat hilly with a couple of big climbs (highest point 820ft, lowest 328 ft above sea level). We pass by the Rushmore Estate, associated with General Pitt-Rivers, one of the founders of British scientific archaeology. Mercifully mud-free on the April pre-walk; but poles recommended to help up the climbs and also on a descent along a chalk stream path – latter can be slippy if it rains. Two stops for coffee and lunch. Can stop at the King John pub in Tollard Royal for a drink – depends on timing but will respond to walker preferences.
Please note: the Finish Time is an estimate and may vary.
