Overview

The walk takes us from outside the church of St Edmund in the picturesque small village of Egleton to the road onto the Hambleton Peninsular. After a short distance we continue onto the well-made path that follows the shoreline of Rutland Water around the whole of the peninsula.
The walk affords good views across to both north and south shores of Rutland Water, England’s largest man-made lake by surface area, and longer views toward the dam and the surrounding countryside.
The walk is entirely on good paths with some roadside walking although this is on a joint walking cycle path. (most cyclists use the road). The route is mostly level with a couple of short undulations on the north.

If you would like to join this walk please contact the Leader using the email link - numbers are limited to 20.
